Ritipanna is Senhalese term for stilt fishing, which is a traditional method for fishing participated by most fishermen along the southern coast of sri Lanka
This is mainly seen in eareas such as Ahangama,Koggala,Welipanna,Kathawla and Thalarambe.
A narrow pole is tied to stick that is acnhored one on the sea bed. Fisher folk climb into this stick and settle on the pole for a few hours in an effort to catch some fish
In monsoon season 9.00 am to 12.00 and 4.00 pm to 6.00 pm can mostly see these Ritipanna banno fishing above mentioned areas
Their costume is very simple
